Code of Conduct
Our Pledge
We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in the Sofia Nix User Group a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.
Our Standards
✅ Expected Behavior
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment:
- Be welcoming and inclusive — Use welcoming and inclusive language
- Be respectful — Respect differing viewpoints and experiences
- Accept feedback gracefully — Accept constructive criticism with grace
- Focus on the community — Focus on what is best for the community
- Show empathy — Show empathy towards other community members
- Help others learn — Remember that everyone was a beginner once
❌ Unacceptable Behavior
Examples of unacceptable behavior:
- Harassment — Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Discrimination — Public or private harassment based on any protected characteristic
- Sexual content — Sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Privacy violations — Publishing others’ private information without explicit permission
- Disruption — Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Other unprofessional conduct — Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies within all SNUG spaces, including:
- In-person meetups and events
- Online chat platforms (Telegram, Matrix, Discord)
- GitHub repositories and discussions
- Social media interactions
- Any other SNUG-related communication
This Code of Conduct also applies when an individual is officially representing SNUG in public spaces.
Enforcement
Reporting
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the community organizers via Discord:

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. All community leaders are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.
Consequences
Community leaders will follow these guidelines in determining consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:
- Correction — A private, written warning with clarity around the nature of the violation
- Warning — A warning with consequences for continued behavior
- Temporary Ban — A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community
- Permanent Ban — A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community
